How to Order
Most items are offered through our shopping cart using a secure website. I prefer to consult with customers about bagpipes so that we get the details right, so these are not offered on the shopping cart. To contact me, email jimmcg@piping.on.ca. I check my e-mail on virtually an hourly basis. We can arrange a phone call to my business phone (905-727-5553) but messages are checked only at the end of the day.
Payment Methods
My shopping cart accepts credit cards and PayPal. For higher priced items I prefer to discuss payment methods that do not entail fees.
All prices are in Canadian dollars. If you live outside of Canada, you are charged Canadian dollars and the total is converted to your local currency by your credit card company. The invoice shows the Canadian amount, and your credit card statement shows the amount in your currency. Please note that online conversion programs such as www.xe.com can be inaccurate by up to 5% due to the difference in buy and sell rates. Special order bagpipes require a deposit at the time the order is placed.
Canadian Taxes
Canadian residents must pay appropriate HST or GST. US and International customers are not subject to any Canadian taxes. Countries other than the US may be responsible for duty or sales taxes when items reach your country.
Shipping Information
I ship all items by Canada Post. More expensive or delicate items go by Canada Post ExpressPost. I find this method to be the fastest, most reliable, and most economical shipping method. I believe the Canadian and U.S. postal services do great work and have a bad rap they do not deserve.
Delivery Time
I process orders as promptly as possible, but I can’t guarantee things as quickly as Amazon!
Returns and Guarantee
I want you to be happy with your purchase. If you are not satisfied, please email to discuss the situation. I generally accept returns within 30 days for a full refund (less shipping costs), as long as the items are still in new condition and are returned in the original product packaging.
Please contact me before returning items as often special instructions are required. Otherwise I can be charged duty, taxes and brokerage charges if the items are coming from outside the county. Packages not properly labelled and requiring duty when they arrive because they will not be accepted.
New bagpipes and chanters are guaranteed for 2 years from the time of purchase against cracking resulting from normal usage and care. Returned items will be assessed upon receipt. Vintage bagpipes cannot be guaranteed against cracking, but if it does occur (rarely) I will consult on repairs and who should do them.
Duty for International Customers
Many US customers are concerned about taxes and duty. All items made in North America ship tax and duty free to US customers as a result of the North American Free Trade Agreement.
